How major sporting events are affected by this virus

As cases of coronavirus in America grew, the NBA (National Basketball Association) has made an unprecedented decision of postponing its league for the foreseeable future. The reason for this is that Rudy Gobert (A basketball player for the Utah Jazz) tested positive for the virus, it is believed he got it because after an interview he touched every single one of the reporters’ microphones. After contracting the virus, he posted a video saying he “wished he took it more seriously”. Since this first case, there have been many cases in NBA players there has been a case in Donovan Mitchell (Rudy Gobert’s Teammate) and in four Brooklyn nets players including Kevin Durant a former Texas basketball player. The Nba cancellation is not the only sports cancellation, the NCAA tournament also known as March Madness: the biggest tournament of 64 division one college basketball teams, it’s kind of like March Mammal Madness except with basketball instead of animals, where people make online brackets to predict who will win. Well, March Madness was officially canceled on March Third, just before the selections started. The original idea was that the games would be played without any spectators but I believe that because they realized that players could have the virus so to avoid the risk Dan Gavitt (The vice-president of the NCAA) and the rest of the NCAA shut down the tournament. And of course, how could we forget the Olympics. They’re scheduled to be held in Tokyo which is already one big red zone for all citizens attempting to avoid the virus. One of the biggest events ever is a big question.
